STRELNA, the Leningrad region, April 30 (Itar-Tass) - A campaign to check the income declarations of the Kremlin administration employees has got under way and will last for a month, the Kremlin administration chief Sergei Ivanov said on Tuesday.

"We have started checking the declarations of the presidential administration staff because it’s necessary to start from ourselves,” Ivanov explained.

The Kremlin administration employees submitted their 2012 income declarations in the evening of April 12. Several days later, Ivanov said that such checks would become regular and would be carried out without a buzz or “witch hunting”.

He added that most declarations had not aroused any questions during the initial check and would not be re-checked. A recheck is possible in individual cases, which will be reported to the presidium of the Anti-Corruption Council and would be given a thorough consideration.
