MOSCOW, April 29 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev offered condolences to the relatives of Alexander Livshits over his death.
The prime minister said in a telegram of condolence, which was posted at the official website of the Russian government, that Livshits “was a remarkable economist, a well-known statesman and politician, made a large contribution in the development of the financial system of the country and the construction of new Russia.”
“The colleagues valued Alexander Yakovlevich for competence, a responsible attitude to his work, self-discipline and profound honesty. The memory about Alexander Yakovlevich Livshits will live forever in the hearts of his relatives, friends and disciples - all those who knew and respected him,” Medvedev said in the telegram of condolence.
Former Russian Finance Minister Alexander Livshits died at the age of 66 years of a heart attack on April 26.
