BEIJING, April 28 (Itar-Tass) - China has reported 124 cases of H7N9 bird flu, including 23 fatal ones, China National Radio reported on Sunday.

The latest case was registered in east China’s province of Zhejiang. A 38 year-old man was confirmed to have caught H7N9 bird flu.

At present, the number of those infected with the new virus in that province is 46. Of them six people died and nine recovered.

China reported the first case of H7N9 bird flu at the end of last month.

Until now no case of human-to-human transmission occurred. Nevertheless, all those who had been in contact with persons who had contracted the virus are placed in quarantine.
