MAKHACHKALA, April 24 (Itar-Tass) - Two women were evacuated from a house blocked by police in Dagestan's village of Sogratel, Gunib district, following talks with the gunmen, a representative of the National Antiterrorist Committee /NAK/ told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

"Two women have been set free as a result of talks with the militants blocked in the course of an antiterrorist operation," the NAK representative said.

The republic's operations headquarters launched the antiterrorist operation in Sogratel at 10:20, Moscow time, on Wednesday.

"Law-enforcement bodies are taking measures to ascertain the identity of and the detain the persons involved in terrorism," the operations headquarters said.

There is no official information about the number of the gunmen in the house, their possible identities or capability to offer resistance.
