Spree shooter in downtown Belgorod killed five people, including a 14-year-old girl

MOSCOW, April 22 (Itar-Tass) – An unidentified spree shooter opened fire at the visitors of the shop Okhota (Hunting) and then at the pedestrians in the street in downtown Belgorod on Monday afternoon. The Belgorod regional police department told Itar-Tass that the attacker escaped in the car BMW X5, which the police found several minutes later. According to preliminary reports, five people were killed, including a 14-year-old girl. The young woman, who was an accidental pedestrian and was wounded, died of wounds in hospital.The criminal case was opened under Article 105 Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code for murder of two and more people.

“By now the detectives already have a suspect in the crime – a Belgorod resident with previous convictions who was released from prison in 2012,” the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee reported.

The detectives are searching though the murder scene, as well as in the found car, and are investigating the details, motives and the scene of the crime. The police detectives are searching for the criminal and are interrogating the eyewitnesses. The team of detectives, road police patrols, private police security officers and road police officers are working at the murder scene.

Experienced criminal detectives were assigned for the practical aid in the investigation of the criminal case from Moscow. The investigation in the criminal case is under control of the central staff of the Russian Investigative Committee.
