MOSCOW, April 17 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian government has an idea what should be done to remedy the economic situation, but these measures require extensive discussion, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday making a report to members of the State Duma lower house of parliament.

According to him, the first months of this year have shown that the economic slowdown trend persists. “The risks are serious here. We had anticipated the slowdown in the context of the situation on the world economic markets,” the prime minister said. He stressed that the government’s task is to implement balanced measures to achieve the acceptable dynamics of the key indicators. “We talked about it the day before yesterday with the president, we discussed measures to stimulate economic development,” Medvedev continued. “We agreed to hold a meeting at the presidential venue with the participation of experts and possibly with State Duma members.” “The government has its own idea of what should be done. But these measures should be discussed in detail with experts and the MPs,” the government head said.

Medvedev recalled that in 2012 the RF government introduced 218 bills in parliament; 153 of the have now been signed by the President of Russia. Over the first three months of this year, the government has already submitted to the State Duma more than 80 bills. “I appreciate that our joint work is constructive,” he said.
