MOSCOW, April 17 (Itar-Tass) - A Russian Internet forum (RIF) and an Internet and Business exhibition open at the holiday hotel Polyany (forest glades) outside Moscow on Wednesday. This annual event named RIF - CYB will bring together executives of tens of companies in the sector, officials, experts, and ordinary Web users.
This year the forum programme provides for over 100 roundtable meetings and cultural and entertainment events. More than 50 Russian and foreign companies -- leaders in the sector of high technologies -- will present their acchievements on an area of 1,000 square metres.
The three-day forum will traditionally begin with an annual review report by the organizer -- the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC) on the state of Runet and its development over the past year.
Experts will tell those present to what extent the Runet audience has grown wider, how the economics and infrastructure of the Russian segment of the Internet developed and what awaits it in the future. Participants in the conference will focus their attention on e-trade and online payments, cyber safety, and the formation of a legislative basis.
RIF-CYB participants this year will be able to take a test for the knowledge of the Internet. Within the scope of the forum, a tournament of the second All-Russia online game "Study the Internet - Control It" championship will be held. The championship has been organized by the Coordinating Center of the national domain of the Internet in conjunction with the Rostelecom Company.
Alexei Izmailov, director of the Internet and Business exhibition, has pointed out, "The interests of participants in the forum are not limited to the conference part. RIF-CYB is a festive occasion for Web surfers. I It is like an out-of-town picnic or, if you will, an open-air festival where each ptofessional will find a lot of kindly acquaintances".
