NOVO-OGARYOVO, April 5 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin said Friday he does not think he is a veteran in politics and he would like to change over to the solution of public issues and social problems after the completion of his activity at state posts.

He said it Friday in an interview with Germany’s state broadcasting company ARD.

When a correspondent asked him if he is eyeing a possibility of new re-elections to the post of the head of state or whether he is considering any other options for activity, Putin said: “Every person with a sense of reason always looks beyond certain horizons.”

“I’m not the biggest political long-liver,” he said. “There are people in European politics, who have occupied top state positions and worked for much longer periods than I’ve been working to date. There are such people in Europe and in North America and in Canada.”

“But still I hope that I’ll have an opportunity to take up some other issues and problems when I round up my activity at state posts,” Putin said. “I have an intense interest in law and in literature and I hope I’ll be able to do something in those areas without tying them up to work at state positions - or maybe to engage in public and sports activities and so on.”
