MAKHACHKALA, April 3 (Itar-Tass) - Musa Islalov, a depuy to the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan, has been wounded in Khasavyurt.

An official at the republican Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass, "At about 22:00, Moscow time, on Tuesday, two unidentified gunmen, firing from a pistol, wounded the parliamentarian in the leg on Nekrasov Street, and fled".

According to a source in the republic's law enforcement agencies, the attackers were extorting money from the parliamentarian and after he refused to give it, applied the firearm against him.
