MOSCOW, March 27 (Itar-Tass) – The level of political culture in Russia is very low, particularly in the social networks and the Internet, Russian Prime Minister and leader of the United Russia Party Dmitry Medvedev stated on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately the level of political culture in our country is very low today,” he said, delivering a lecture within the project “Civil University”. “It is particularly obvious in those spheres, which are not regulated by the legislation,” Medvedev said.
“For instance, the legislation regulates the publications in the media to some extent. No one regulates them in the Internet, except for some special cases, which we exposed,” Medvedev underlined.
“We should get accustomed to this and work energetically,” he went on to say. “In any case, United Russia should set an example of civilized and cultural debates,” Medvedev said.
“If necessary we should be tough and persistent. Without impudence, but tough and persistent. Meanwhile, we should remain benevolent,” the prime minister underlined.
