KRASNODAR, March 24 (Itar-Tass) – Early mayoral elections are held in the Black Sea resort city Anapa on Sunday.
“All 68 polling stations opened at 08:00 Moscow time on Sunday,” the Krasnodar territorial election committee told Itar-Tass.
Ten candidates are running for Anapa mayor, particularly acting Mayor Sergei Sergeyev (United Russia), Alexei Yegorov (Yabloko), Ruslan Bulatov (LDPR), Sergei Burlutsky (Civic Platform), Sergei Yegishyan (Patriots of Russia), Andrei Kurkov (Party for Justice!), Rimma Rayevskaya (the people’s party For Women of Russia), Viktor Tyurin (CPRF) and Stanislav Shishkin (A Just Russia).
The polling stations will be opened all day long on Sunday, after 20:00 Moscow time the vote count will begin. As many as 116,000 Anapa residents are entitled to vote in the mayoral elections.
Previous Mayor Tatiana Yevsikova filed resignation over her health problems last December. The governor decided to appoint head of the Tikhoretsky district of the Krasnodar Territory Sergei Sergeyev as acting mayor.
