IRKUTSK, March 18 (Itar-Tass) - Six people have died in a house fire on Monday morning in Yelantsy Settlement (Olkhon District of Irkutsk Region), the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (RME) regional center reports.
A message about a private house fire came from eyewitnesses at about seven a.m., local time. "Two minutes later, firemen arrived at the indicated address. When the first unit of firemen came to the scene at 07:16, the house was burning from the inside," an RME center official specified.
Although the log house was not damaged badly, all the six people inside died in the blaze. Their bodies were found by rescuers during a firefighting operation.
The RME center official emphasized, "Since the beginning of the current year, fire safety inspectors, when visiting problem families and those leading an asocial way of life repeatedly instructed three out of the six fire victims about fire prevention measures".
A field investigation group of the RME center together with specialists of the fire prevention testing laboratory has been sent out to Yelantsy Settlement to find out the cause of the fire.
