NALCHIK, March 16 (Itar-Tass) - Rescuers on Elbrus are searching for two tourists, Pawel Gostinski from Poland and Iranian Ali-Atabi Sirelli, who disappeared during the ascent, the head of the main department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Kabardino-Balkaria, Murat Apazhikhov, told Itar-Tass on Saturday.
The search is underway at a height of 4,200 m in the area of the Pastukhov rocks, a duty officer of the Emergencies Ministry’s Elbrus search and rescue team said.
The group of tourists was not registered, and so, their whereabouts are not known, the officer noted.
The information that two foreign tourists disappeared in the area located south of the former base Priyut-11 was received on Friday.
