MOSCOW, March 14 (Itar-Tass) – The Russian Interior Ministry has called on all parties linked to an acid attack on Sergei Filin, the Bolshoi ballet’s artistic director, to refrain from comments and interpretations in the interests of investigation.

“Attempts made by separate individuals to interpret the course of criminal investigation cannot pursue any other goal than to exert pressure on investigators. The investigation is comprehensive and objective and is being carried out in full compliance with the law,” the press service of the Moscow interior department told Itar-Tass on Thursday. It added that investigators were the only true source of information.

“We respect people who try to show that they are well-informed about this case and say what they think about its circumstances. However, we insistently recommend them to rely on competent bodies and Interior Ministry investigators. Don’t try to substitute their professional work with your suggestions,” the press service went on to say.

The Russian Interior Ministry has promised to timely inform broad public of any significant details in the case as soon as they become known to investigators.
