VATICAN CITY, March 13 (Itar-Tass) – The Conclave elected a new pope in Vatican City on Wednesday, March 13.

The decision was made by 115 cardinals under the age of 80 with the right to vote. One of them was elected a new pope as signified by the white smoke billowing up from the Sistine Chapel’s smokestack.

The name of the new pope will be announced in about an hour.
