BRUSSELS, March 8 (Itar-Tass) – Negotiations on the supplemented on the simplification of the visa regime between Russia and the EU “are close to completion,” the press service of the European Union told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“The supplemented agreement will increase the number of categories of citizens for getting visas in a simplified procedure, including multiple visas. These will include, in particular, family members living in different countries and representatives of non-governmental organisations,” the press service said. According to available information, this document should also fix the visa-free travel for holders of official passports.
At the same time, the EU Council has so far withheld comment on whether this agreement will be signed at the next joint meeting of the European Commission and the Russian Government that will be held in Moscow on March 20.
