MOSCOW, March 8 (Itar-Tass) – President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Venezuela’s acting President Nicolas Maduro on Thursday, March 7.
Putin expressed condolences and sympathy to the Venezuelan leadership and the Venezuelan people in connection with the premature death of President Hugo Chavez.
He stressed his conviction that friendship and mutually advantageous cooperation between Russia and Venezuela would develop further in the interests or and for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
Maduro thanked Putin for his condolences and assured him of continuity in strategic partnership between Venezuela and Russia.
