Tuva mourning adolescents killed in snowslide

The search for the sixth missing boy is due to resume on Thursday morning

GORNO-ALTAISK, March 7 (Itar-Tass) - The Tuva authorities announced March 7 the day of mourning for the adolescents killed in a snowslide, the press service of the regional government told Itar-Tass.

Flags will fly at half-mast and all entertainment programs and events have been cancelled per orders by Tuva governor Sholban Kara-ool.

Last Sunday, seven youngsters reached the top of the Ak-Bashtyg mountain to perform a ritual in the runup to a sport competition, and were caught in a snowslide. Anton Salchak, 17, was the only survivor. He got out of the snow on his own and reported the incident. The bodies of five youngsters were found in the Mongun-Taiginsky district on Wednesday. They were brought to the district center of Mugur-Asky.
