ZAVIDOVO, Tver Region, March 4 (Itar-Tass) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich said they would strengthen cooperation such fields as space exploration, aircraft making and energy.
“Cooperation develops but not without problems. However on the whole work has been successful,” Putin said at the talks with Yanukovich on Monday, March 4. “We should discuss what curbs our cooperation and what we should do to develop it further.”
Yanukovich supported this proposal and stressed the need to “adjust positions on cooperation and step up joint actions on certain problems,” referring specifically to cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and construction of two units at nuclear power plants.
“Orders for equipment in this sector are not coming very quickly and we need to accelerate this process,” he added.
Yanukovich also believes it necessary to step up cooperation in the field of aircraft construction, specifically on An-148 and An-124 panes.
