Keiko Matsui to mark 25 years of creative activity in Moscow Mon

MOSCOW, March 4 (Itar-Tass) - A guest tour of various countries of the world by Keiko Matsui, a Japanese piano player, is dedicated to her 25-year creative activity. The tour includes the United States, Japan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, and Russia. On Monday, the virtuoso player of piano in jazz, classical, rock, blues, and other styles, will perform on the stage of the Moscow International House of Music.

Matsui is one of the brightest stars of present-day instrumental art, who gave concerts in this country many times. The Japanes piano player's guest schedule includes the cities of Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, Rostov, Tula, Sochi, Volgograd, and St Petersburg. Her Moscow programme provides for both well-known and new compositions from her album "The Road". Keiko Matsui says music to her is like a prayer, a means to address the Universe. "I draw inspiration from everyday life and the beauty of nature. I hope my creative endeavours will help make the world more beautiful," the pianist told Itar-Tass.

Keiko means in Japanese "a happy, joy child". In the Keiko Matsui's family, there were no musicians. Her father is a businessman. Her mother was enthusiastic about traditional Japanese dances. However, the parents upheld their daughter's inrerest in music. The debut album was recorded by Keiko Matsui in the USA in 1987. She has recorded 22 albums, all in all.
