MOSCOW, March 3 (Itar-Tass) - Train traffic is partially resumed in the Trans-Baikal Territory, where nine cars with coal derailed on Saturday, a Russian Railways company source told Itar-Tass.
The first track of the Makkaveyevo-Darasun section of the Chita-Karymskaya railroad was opened at 23:59 Moscow time, the source said. The repair work on the second line was continuing.
The passenger trains delayed because of the accident leave for the destinations, the source said, assuring that all the passengers had drinking water and additional food was provided for passengers in trains delayed for more than four hours.
Passengers from the Irkutsk-Zabaikalsk train who are on the way to China, planning to visit the country as tourists, were carried by buses to Zabaikalsk to cross the border in time.
The accident occurred on the railroad between Makkaveyevo and Darasun at 15:02 Moscow time on Saturday. The derailment was caused by break of a side frame of a bogie in one of the cars.
