HAVANA, February 22 (Itar-Tass) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in Cuba on working visit.

He flew in from Brasilia where he had had talks with the Brazilian leadership and co-chaired a meeting of the bilateral high-level commission on cooperation.

Several documents are to be signed in Cuba.

On Friday, February 22, Medvedev will visit the 22nd International Book Fair that is held in Havana annually. This year’s Fair is devoted to the 160th anniversary of Cuban revolutionary Jose Marti’s birth. Medvedev will lay flowers at his monument in a traditional protocol ceremony.

Cuba is halfway in Medevdev’s itinerary. He had travelled across seven time zones on the way from Moscow to Brasilia with a technical stopover for refueling in Cabo Verde, having spent more than 14 hours in the air, all in all.

The trip to Cuba added two more times zones and a seven-hour flight. Because of the nine-hour time difference between Havana and Moscow, it will be evening in Moscow when Medvedev will be attending morning events in Havana.
