YEKATERINBURG, February 17 (Itar-Tass) – The sulphuric acid leaked on the area of 100 square metres from 12 tanks, which derailed at the Severouralsky copper mill, the press service of the Sverdlovsk regional emergency situation department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

An alarm call came at 14:05 Moscow time that 12 tanks derailed on the railway line at the Sredneuralsky copper mill. “According to preliminary reports, two tanks with sulphuric acid were in the train. The sulphuric acid leaked on the area of 100 square metres,” the press service said. The cleanup of the aftermaths of the man-made incident continues, the evacuation of the plant’s workers was not needed. There is no threat to the life and health of people.
