MOSCOW, February 16 (Itar-Tass) - The Coordination Council of the Opposition at its meeting on Saturday confirmed its intention to organize a mass demonstration on May 5-6, 2013, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the events that took place at Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012.

The council also decided to provide informational support for the march to uphold Muscovites' Social Rights, planned for March 2. The march will be organized on the initiative of Left Front members, civil activists and State Duma member Ilya Ponomaryov.

Other proposals to stage more protest demonstrations before May 6 were not supported. Council members believe that often protest actions may reduce the number of participants and it may be interpreted as failure of the opposition.
