MOSCOW, February 13 (Itar-Tass) – Families of the miners that were killed in an explosion in the Vorkutinskaya mine will receive from the federal budget 1 million roubles each in addition to payments from the regional budget and the company budget, Russian Minister of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) Vladimir Puchkov said at a briefing on Wednesday.
“The proposal to pay the bereaved families an additional 1 million roubles from the federal budget was supported at the government meeting today,” he said. In addition, according to the minister, the state assumes the funeral costs and costs of the transportation of the miners’ bodies to their residence regions.
Puchkov noted that assistance will be provided to children of the dead miners. “The children who intend to enter educational establishment of the EMERCOM system will be able to do it in a simplified manner,” he explained.
“Those injured in the accident, who got light injuries, will receive 200 thousand roubles each and those with medium and serious bodily injuries - 400 thousand roubles each,” the emergencies minister said.
He said that after the emergency at the Vorkutinskaya mine 241 people were quickly evacuated to the surface. Three people are undergoing on treatment in Moscow and in Vorkuta.
