MOSCOW, February 10 (Itar-Tass) – The driver of a foreign-made car, which hit three road police inspectors on Kutuzovsky Prospekt in Moscow early on Sunday, had violated driving rules earlier, a source at the Moscow interior department told Itar-Tass.

“A 42 year-old citizen of Azerbaijan became responsible for six times in 2012 for violation of traffic rules, like having no plates, or high speed driving,” the traffic police’s press service said.

Now the police are checking of the man has formal rights for staying in the territory of the Russian Federation.

A BMW car whose driver had reportedly lost control of the vehicle ran into three police officers on duty. They were taken to medical clinics with traumas. The incident occurred near building 48 on Kutuzovsky Prospekt at around 05:00 Moscow time, the source at the Moscow police went on to say. He said that the inspectors were checking the documents of another car owner who was also hurt in the accident. The BMW driver was sent to undergo a medical examination. A decision will be taken later after all the circumstances have been established.
