SOCHI, February 8 (Itar-Tass) - The press centre of the Russian Olympic team was opened in a ceremony in Sochi on Friday.
The centre appeared in the Olympic capital a year before the beginning of the Winter Olympic Games, where, with support of the Olympic movement's world partner Coca Cola, a series of press conferences will be held with the participation of federations of winter sports, Russia Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov told a pres conference in the United Information Centre Sochi 2014.
According to the ten-year-old tradition, the Russia Olympic Committee opens its press centres in capitals of Games.
It was opened in London 100 days before the Games. This time, it is opened earlier than usually. The Olympics will take place here, and so, the press centre is expected to play its role in the preparations and the holding of the Games, Zhukov noted.
According to him, among the press centre's main tasks are presentation of members of the Russian Olympic team and fully coverage of the preparation of sportsmen for the Games.
