MOSCOW, February 6 (Itar-Tass) - The Federation Council (FC) upper house of the Russian parliament holds a plenary meeting here on Wednesday to consider a number of new bills, discuss the results of the APPF session in Vladivostok, and hear a report by Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin during a Government Hour quesion-and-answer session.
The report to be made by Rogozing, who is also heading the Military Industrial Commission, will be devoted to the results of implementation of the State-placed defence order in 2012. The discussion of the matter will be held in a closed-door mode. "It is planned to take note of the information to be presented," says a respective item of the agenda.
One of the bills to be examined on Wednesday concerns a more precise definition of the powers of the RF regional government bodies in the establishment and operation of a system ensuring the dialing of a single phone number, 112, to call in emergency response services.
The document, initiated by the government, was passed by the State Duma at the end of January. At present, the pilot zones of the"System 112" are in operation in three regions. The full transition to the single enrgency resonse phone number is to be completed by 2017.
FC member are also to hear a report by House Deputy Speaker Ilyas Umakhanov on the results of the 21st session of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, which was held under Russia's presidency on the Russkiy Island in Vladivostok from January 27 to 30. Fourteen resolutions were adopted as a result of the international event. They concern, in particular, food security of the region, parliamentary diplomacy, energy efficiency, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, in the Middle East, etc.
