MOSCOW, February 4 (Itar-Tass) – The Palestinian Authority has named the State of Palestine, the Palestinian Embassy in Russia reported on Monday.
The post of the Palestinian Authority chairman has been also renamed. Now there is the position of “President of the State of Palestine”, the embassy said.
“These changes are related to Palestine’s upgraded status. It was given the observer status in the U.N. [under U.N. General Assembly Resolution 1317 of November 29, 2012],” the embassy said.
Corresponding decrees have been signed by Mahmoud Abbas.
