Over 100 flights cancelled at Beijing airport over snowfalls

200 snowploughs were assigned for the cleanup of the runways from snow and ice

BEIJING, February 3 (Itar-Tass) – As many as 115 flights were cancelled at the Beijing airport Shoudu over heavy snowfalls on Sunday, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.

Over 800 emergency workers of the air harbour and 200 snowploughs were assigned for the cleanup of the runways from snow and ice.

The weather forecasting services reported that the snowfalls will continue in north-eastern and northern China until Tuesday, and heavy rains are forecast in central and eastern regions of the country in next few days.
