Putin appoints Magadan’s Mayor Vladimir Pecheny acting governor of Magadan region

MOSCOW, February 3 (Itar-Tass) - Russia’s President Vladimir Putin signed an order on acting governor of the Magadan region, the Kremlin’s press service reported on Sunday.

“Due to expiration of the term of the Magadan region’s Governor Nikolai Dudkov, I order appointing Vladimir Pecheny acting governor till a person elected governor takes the office in the Magadan region,” the order reads.

Nikolai Dudov of 61 managed the region from February, 2003.

Vladimir Pecheny was elected Magadan’s Mayor in October of 2004 and later in October of 2008.
