MUNICH, February 2 (Itar-Tass) – Russia is against a military solution of the conflict around Iran’s nuclear programme, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the 49th conference on security on Saturday.

He supported his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle that “these issues are to be discussed as regional security.” Lavrov stressed that the problem should be considered in the context of the Persian Gulf countries’ security, including Iran, which, the minister said, “has never ever attacked anyone.”
