MOSCOW, January 31 (Itar-Tass) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has set a task of ensuring a long-term growth of the Russian economy on the new technology basis.
“The first thing to do is to form a new technology base to back the long-term growth, when non-material factor, such as science, education, and public health, are assigned greater importance,” he said, presenting basic guidelines for the government’s activities till 2018 at an extended cabinet meeting on Thursday.
“Russia is an open country with a high degree of integration into the global economy,” he stressed. “We must take a due account of not only the current state of things but also of global tendencies, we must react to external challenges properly and timely.”
