Heat supply line breakdown rectified in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK, January 21 (Itar-Tass) - A breakdown that occurred on the heat supply line here on Sunday, leaving 7,350 people in 52 houses without heating, has been rectified.

Pipe welding operations on the stricken heat supply line were completed at night and the affected houses were provided with hot water on Monday morning. Air temperature in the apartments is 18 degrees above zero (Celsius), whereas air temperature outdoors is 12 degrees below zero. The freezing of heat supply system piping has been prevented, the press service of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (RME) department for the Primorsky (maritime) Territory reported.

Forty-one people and 17 units of machinery, including six people and two repair trucks from the RME, participated in damage control operations.
