KEMEROVO, January 16 (Itar-Tass) — A man, who was wounded in the blast of the gas cylinder in a residential house in Novokuznetsk, died. Thus, the death toll of the gas blast reached three people.
Man, who was born in 1953, has got 85% of body burns and died at the city hospital. “The wounded man died on Wednesday morning,” the press service of the city authorities told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. “He was in grave condition all this time before his death,” the press service added.
The city authorities noted that another three dwellers, who were wounded in the gas blast, are undergoing treatment at the hospital. “Two of them have the positive dynamics for recovery, one more patient is estimated to be in heavy condition,” the press service said, adding that four people (first injured people were discharged from the hospital back on Saturday, January 12) were checked out from the hospital.
The fire broke out at 04:14 Moscow time on Tuesday, January 8, in a residential house in Novokuznetsk. The criminal case was opened under Article 109 Part 3 for causing death through negligence.
According to the preliminary reports, the propane cylinder blast could have triggered the fire, as a 50-year-old man brought the gas cylinder to his flat. The regional authorities reported that the man misused the propane cylinder to heat a private house with the heating cannon. However, the valve of the gas cylinder has frozen up over severe frosts, and the dweller brought the gas cylinder to his flat to warm it up.
