ST. PETERSBURG, January 13 (Itar-Tass) – About 1,000 people took part in a rally in St. Petersburg on Sunday against the law banning the adoption of Russian children by US families, city police reports.
The rally “proceeded without public nuisance,” a source from the city police department told Tass. The opposition action that began at 13:00 Moscow time had been coordinated with the city authorities.
Protesters demanded to revoke the legislative ban on the adoption of Russian orphans by American families that came as a response to the Magnitsky law passed in the United States.
