People injured in air crash at Vnukovo airport in stable condition

MOSCOW, January 8 (Itar-Tass) —— People, who were wounded in the air crash at the Vnukovo airport, are in stable condition, the positive dynamics in their condition is developing, the Russian Health Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

“Two wounded people, namely a 26-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, are undergoing treatment at the Pirogov clinical hospital number one. The female patient is in satisfactory condition, earlier she was transferred from the intensive therapy ward to the ordinary ward,” a source in the Health Ministry said. The man remains at the intensive therapy ward in stably heavy condition, but the positive dynamics in his condition is observed. The male patient, who was brought to the Sklifosovsky first aid clinic, is in stably grave condition, but the positive dynamics is observed in his condition as well.

On December 29, the passenger airplane Tu-204 of the Russian air company Red Wings, which en route from the Czech Republic, overran the runway after the crash landing at the Vnukovo airport, fell into three parts and caught fire. The fire has been put out for less than half an hour. The crew of eight people was only onboard the airplane. Five of them were killed in the air crash.

The criminal case was opened under Article 263 Part 3 of the Russian Criminal Code for violation of the flight safety rules and the steering of aircraft.
