PARIS, January 8 (Itar-Tass) —— French actor Gerard Depardieu, who was granted Russian citizenship last Saturday, did not appear for a court session at the Paris Palace of Justice here on Tuesday. Depardieu’s lawyer Eric de Caumont, who came for a meeting with the prosecutor and the judge of his client, confirmed this news report.

Depardieu was to turn up in the Paris court to pass the procedure for the preliminary confession. The administrative offence case was opened against him over a minor road accident that the actor triggered in the end of October, when nothing foretold such an expected turn in the fate of the actor, who refused from French citizenship in public and was granted the Russian passport. The police detained him after the latter fell down from his motor scooter on the crossroads in Paris. Depardieu was found driving the scooter in the state of drunkenness, exceeding seriously the permitted level of alcohol content in the blood.
