KEMEROVO, January 8 (Itar-Tass) —— Five out of nine people, who were wounded in a fire at a residential house in Novokuznetsk, are in heavy condition. Two of them were brought to the intensive therapy ward, the Novokuznetsk city hospital number one told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
A man has got 90% of body burns and his son – 80% of skin burns. A seven-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy are also in heavy condition. One more injured girl is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The doctors estimated that she is in satisfactory condition.
Two people died in the fire.
The fire alarm call came at 04:14 Moscow time on Tuesday from a nine-storey residential house in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district in Novokuznetsk, the press service of the regional emergency situation department told Itar-Tass. “The eyewitnesses said that the blast went off and the fire sparked up. The firemen rushed to the fire site,” the press service said, noting that the fire had been extinguished for an hour.
“The cause of the fire will be found in the investigation,” the press service reported.
Twenty dwellers were evacuated. They were accommodated at the kindergarten. The regional authorities will give the material aid to them, and the flats damaged in the fire will be repaired from the regional budget.
The team of detectives is working at the fire site, spokesperson for the regional investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee Nadezhda Ananyeva said.
The police have fenced off the residential house, the press service of the regional police department said. “The police rushed to the fire site as soon as the fire alarm call came. The building was cordoned. The police helped evacuate the dwellers,” the press service said, adding that the current task of the police is to protect the public order.
