One killed, four injured in Krasnoyarsk territory petrol tanker blast

KRASNOYARSK, January 7 (Itar-Tass) — One person was killed and another four were injured, when a petrol tanker exploded at a fuel and lubricants storage facility in the Krasnoyarsk territory, Siberia, the regional emergencies department told Itar-Tass on Monday.

The blast followed by fire occurred in the village of Essei, the Evenki district, at 12:25 local time (08:25 Moscow time). The accident took place on the territory of a storage facility owned by Evenkiyanefteproduct, while fuel was pumped from a petrol tanker to a fixed cistern.

Police said violation of the safety rules was a preliminary reason for the blast.

An investigation is underway.
