MOSCOW, January 6 (Itar-Tass) —— A woman and a child were killed and one more child was injured in a traffic accident that occurred in the vicinity of Moscow, a spokesman for the Moscow police department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“The accident took place at about 16:00 Moscow time on Sunday at the 38th kilometer of the Kaluzhskoye highway outside Moscow. The woman driver lost control of her Renault car and hit the lightning pole. As a result, the woman and one child aged some ten to twelve years died instantly. The other child aged five or six was hospitalized,” the spokesman said.

An investigation is underway.

This is the second lethal road accident involving children in Moscow over the past 24 hours. Late on Saturday, a Chrysler car collided with Suzuki in Moscow’s Ryazansky Avenue, killing a woman and a six-year-old child, who were inside the Chrysler.

Moscow’s traffic police call on drivers to be very attentive while driving and to strictly observe traffic rules.
