ROME, January 5 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian Consulate General has opened a hotline for relatives of the people who died or were injured in the accident in the Alpine ski resort of Cermis, the Russian representative office in Milan told Itar-Tass.
Six Russian tourists died and other two were seriously injured in the snowmobile crash in the Italian resort of Cermis (the region of Trentino-Alto Adige) overnight. The two injured people in heavy condition were taken to a hospital in Trento.
Denis Kravchenko, Irina Kravchenko, Vyacheslav Shvetsov, Yulia Yudina, Lyudmila Yudina and Rosilya Pshenichnaya died in the accident. Pshenichnaya worked in Italy's tourism sector. Azad Yegafarov, also a worker of the tourism sector, and Boris Yudin were injured. They are in hospital.
Five of the dead and one of the injured men are residents of Krasnodar. They arrived in Italy as tourists.
According to the investigators' information, the tragedy supposedly was caused by speeding in the dangerous area. Another version is technical malfunction of the snowmobile.
The group of tourists in a motor snowmobile with a trailer went down from a mountain restaurant to the hotel. The snowmobile ran through the barriers and fell from the slope.
The Consulate General in Milan stays in contact with Italian authorities and services that investigate the causes of the crash and the administration of the hospital where the survivors are.
