Members of illegal armed groups were blocked in a house in the village. They opened fire in response to the order to surrender. Nobody of the police was hurt.

On Friday evening, gunmen were blocked in a flat in a nine-storey building at Magomedtagirov Street in Makhachkala. The blocked gunmen refused to surrender and at 19:20 Moscow time opened fire. At about 22:00, an unidentified person fired a pistol at the policemen in the cordon. One policeman was wounded in the head, and another OMON policeman received a foot wound. The attacker was killed by the retaliatory fire. His identity has yet to be established.
