PARIS, December 29 (Itar-Tass) — A Russian skier died in a ski resort in Department Savoy, French Alps, a spokesman for the police office of Modane told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“The accident occurred near a ski track in the ski resort of Orelle,” he said. “A skier slammed into a rock shelf getting head injury. He died of injuries before rescuers arrived.”
A 28-year-old resident of St. Petersburg came to France together with his friends for holidays.
“He skied without a ski helmet and went beyond the ski area boundary,” the spokesman said.
