Ukrainian Interior Ministry helicopter crashes, five dead

Investigators are working at the scene of the accident

KIEV, December 25 (Itar-Tass) —— A Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s Interior Troops crashed at the Aleksandria airfield in the Kirovograd region on Tuesday, December 25.

Five people died as a result of the accident, the Interior Ministry press service said.

“After the ascent, the Mi-8 helicopter started falling suddenly for unknown reasons and crashed,” the statement said.

There crewmembers and two ground maintenance specialists died.

Investigators are working at the scene of the accident. A special commission led by Deputy Interior Minister Viktor Ratushnyak will investigate the accident.
