MOSCOW, December 25 (Itar-Tass) — Investigators have ascertained the involvement of State Duma lawmaker Konstantin Shirshov /Communist faction/ in demanding 7.5 million euros for "selling" a State Duma lawmaker's mandate, and suspect lawmaker Oleg Mikheyev /A Just Russia faction/ of involvement in the takeover of 14 real estate facilities belonging to the Volgograd engine-making plant, worth over 500million roubles, as well as attempted theft of 2.1 billion roubles from Promsvyazbank. Mikheyev is also suspected of obstructing justice, Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said.

Markin said the Investigative Committee was seeking to have lawmakers Shirshov and Mikheyev stripped of their immunity. "The SK forwarded materials to the Prosecutor General’s Office to ask the State Duma to strip them of lawmaker's immunity," in order to prosecute them, he said.
