NALCHIK, December 25 (Itar-Tass) — Unidentified assailants shot and killed rector of Kabardino-Balkaria's State Academy of Agriculture Boris Zherukov in his office in Nalchik, an official at the regional department of the Investigative Committee reported.
No further details were given. A group of detectives is on their way to the scene.
Zherukov, 58, has led the United Russia faction at the republic's parliament. He was dean of the agronomy department since 1993, chairman of the Thesis Board, and pro-rector for economic work and external relations before his appointment as president of Kabardino-Balkaria's state academy of agriculture.
