KHABAROVSK, December 25 (Itar-Tass) —— The second line of the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline was commissioned. The ceremony to commission the ESPO second line was held in Khabarovsk on Tuesday.

The first line of the trunk oil pipeline stretching at 2,694 kilometres was commissioned three years ago in December 2009 and permitted to pump the oil along the pipeline from Taishet in the Irkutsk Region to Skovordino in the Amur Region. During the construction of the first line the oil terminal Kozmino was built on the Pacific coast. The oil has been trafficked by the railway to the ESPO final point in the oil port Kozmino in the Primorsky Territory until recently.

A trunk oil pipeline will be built from Skovordino to the oil port on the Pacific coast at the second stage of the ESPO construction. The ESPO second line will stretch at more than 2,000 kilometres. The total length of the ESPO oil pipeline will reach 4,739 kilometres.
