CC finds constitutional law on direct governor elections

MOSCOW, December 24 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Constitutional Court (CC) has recognised amendments to the federal law on the gubernatorial elections as not contradicting the country’s Constitution. The corresponding ruling was announced on Monday at the request of the State Duma members from the Communist Party (CPRF) and A Just Russia that was considered in an open meeting on November 13.
