GORNO-ALTAISK, December 23 (Itar-Tass) — The water pipeline ruptured again at the thermal power plant in the settlement Khovu-Aksy in Tuva on Sunday morning, therefore, the boiler repaired on Saturday was suspended to avoid a blast in the boiler over the shortage of vapour and water, former Tuva minister of industry and energy Karim Sagaan-ool, who now works as the first deputy mayor in Kyzyl, reported to Tuva’s leader Sholban Kara-ool from the incident site.
The republican leader is working at the emergencies situation centre in the direct linkup with the emergency headquarters, which work in the settlement Khovu-Aksy under the supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister Sholban-ool Irgit, the press service of the Tuva government told Itar-Tass. He demanded urgent measures should be taken, though they were initially planned in case of a deteriorated situation that envisaged the evacuation of people with all forces involved.
“The evacuation stations should continue their operation in the settlements of the Chedi-Khol district and the city Kyzyl. About 750 people are staying at the evacuation stations, as their 45 houses with 357 flats are situated in the emergency zone. In general, the local population makes 3,500 people and it is needed to work with all of them,” the Tuva prime minister said. Director of the Kyzyl thermal power station Andrei Trotsan has already dispatched one more team of emergency workers in Khovu-Aksy upon coordination with the emergency headquarters.
Sholban Kara-ool instructed to send another batch of all necessary material and technical supplies, including the diesel fuel, fuels and lubricants, folding beds, potbelly stoves, communication devices and mobile portable sledges. He demanded from the heads of the working groups to ask for clear needs.
The republican leader noted at the negotiations with head of the Siberian regional emergency situation centre Vladimir Svetelsky that he asked the Russian government to allocate three module-based boiler houses from the stock to eliminate the emergency situation in the settlement Khovu-Aksy. Svetelsky pledged that he will also take all necessary measures. In particular, several heavy-duty trucks Gorynych with the heaters will arrive in Khovu-Aksy on Sunday.
A harsh cold spell with the frosts of minus 40 degrees Celsius and lower persists in Tuva on Sunday.
